At Rooibru, our mission is simple: To revolutionise the way the health-conscious community enjoys a dop. Born from the ambitious minds of Stellenbosch students, Christian Hall and Kelvin Swanepoel, who fancied a guilt-free day with the Bru’s without all that unnatural and artificial BS. Together, we introduce a Rooibos-based alcoholic drink that says 'cheers' to your well-being and 'cheerio' to all the unnatural alternatives. Our blend is a perfect balance for those who love to stay active and enhance their lifestyle with as much enthusiasm as they hit the bar. It’s for the spirited souls who count their gains and losses, both at the gym and in life, but never at the cost of fun with the Bru’s.

I envision Rooibru as more than just another drink you sip at a braai and forget about the next day; but rather a lifestyle choice that promotes health, enjoyment, and South Africa.

My leadership is all about keeping it real-focusing on the community, hugging some trees, and slipping in some innovative products, all while aiming to hit the market harder than the bomb squad in a 60th minute scrum!

Currently, I’m knee-deep in my law degree, but I’m also on a mission to take Rooibru to new heights and shake up the alcoholic beverage game by mixing pleasure, health, and responsibility in a fun and uniquely South African way!

As the Co-founder of Rooibru, I am here to shake things up in an overly saturated liquor market. We are on a mission to make conscious drinking actually fun, with a proudly South African twist.

Together with the Rooibru crew, we are turning good ideas into even better drinks, keeping things clean, refreshing, and just a little bit rebellious. Whether it is cracking the numbers or cracking open a cold Rooibru, I am all in on building a brand that is bold, no BS, and built to last.

Production Manager & Distiller

I’m Hamish Gebers, the distiller behind Rooibru. With a strong background in distilling, winemaking, beer brewing, and a Master's in Science, I bring a deep understanding of liquor production to our team. My family has been in the wine business for 30 years, and for the past seven years, distilling spirits has been my personal passion. From crafting witblits in the garage to producing award-winning gin and the nation’s top dry mead, my journey has been both diverse and rewarding. Now I am proud to be a part of something new with the rest of the Rooibru team. I hope you enjoy my craft!
